It sounds like you had a lot of fun, and some great experiences. I nearly did some work at Demuths, sadly it’s closed now. I might have a jellied ale later 😜

That pie certainly sounds and looks much better than the ale. Poor Keanu/Kier, although it’s probably that exact kind of experience that led to him becoming such a distinguished Director of Public Prosecutions. Looking forward to what the Christmas jukebox throws up for the title of Chapter 15…

We heard that a lot over the years.

That pie looks gorgeous.

Our supper club was vegetarian (often vegan) … for no other reason than the kitchen at home wasn’t cleared for meat and we didn’t get round to changing that. A nine course ‘tasting menu’ … thing is, we just advertised the event in the deli and folk turned up. We eschewed labels and so just told folk we’d feed them … any intolerances or allergies were taken account of (if one person had it, the whole menu accommodated it), then it was just ‘food’. JoJo did a course at Demuth’s to add to the several she’d done at Ashburton and in we charged. Even in meat eating mid-Wales, folk went away totally satisfied, full of the wonders of what you can do without meat. It’s funny how folk cling onto labels to define who or what they are and shut themselves out of certain things (the folk who expected vegetarian food to be a certain way!). Great storytelling. The jelly beer tale reminded me of some barrel aged natural beers brewed locally to us that we served one evening … there was ‘stuff’ in it, all the stuff that gave it life and flavour, but the fellas of the Rotary Club needed clear lager! Fortunately, we had some bottles from another Welsh brewer to soothe them with! Happy Sunday.
